SMOLENSK Tier X Soviet Premium Light Cruiser Stats World of Warships

SMOLENSK

Updated: 244,000 For Sale in the 0.8.7 Armory

Main Characteristics of Smolensk.
  • 16 main battery guns with comfortable ballistics, a good rate of fire but a rather short standard range. At various combat distances, Smolensk can attack enemy ships with HE and AP shells alike, the latter being quite good for guns of that calibre;
  • The characteristics of the 130 mm guns can be significantly improved by using the following Commander skills: Basic Firing Training and Advanced Firing Training;
  • Torpedo armament that is quite good for a Soviet cruiser: one quintuple launcher on either side of the ship. The range of her torpedoes is 8 km;
  • A good speed of 35 knots and nice handling make it possible to promptly respond to ever-changing combat situations;
  • The Repair Party and Smoke Generator consumables on board as well as a concealment that is quite good for a ship of her type and tier compensate for the ship's poor armour protection and tiny pool of HP;
  • An option to choose between the Defensive AA Fire and Hydroacoustic Search consumables to counter carriers or destroyers, respectively;
  • More credits earned in each battle,
  • 100% More XP provided by the camouflage.

Wows Gamer Blog Smolensk Flag.
The ancient Russian city of Smolensk, which has a coat of arms depicting a bird of paradise sitting on a cannon, gave name to ships of both Imperial Russian and Soviet Navies.
Wows Gamer Blog Tier X Soviet Premium Light Cruiser Smolensk (1950).
Developed after World War II, a project of a small light cruiser (MLK 16x130) equipped with sixteen dual-purpose guns in four turret mounts and intended to counter enemy light ships.

    TRI-PTS Reward Tier VI Premium Ship

    Commanders, we thank you for participating in testing version 0.8.6! Your feedback helps us improve the version and correct any errors that occur. Check out the list of changes and join the second stage of testing!

    List of Changes:
    • Now upon entering the game, you'll be greeted by the updated Marseilles port. Have a look at the decorations dedicated to the French arc!
    • Different ports were improved for the new lighting model;
    • The base minimal possible damage dealt by AA auras is changed. Now if a ship has an AA aura, it will deal at least 17.5 continuous damage per second. This will fix an error which appeared due to the change of AA damage frequency: some AA zones dealt 0 damage per second;
    • Colour and saturation is changed for the outline of the islands on the minimap of the Crash Zone Alpha map;
    • Fixed a bug which caused the rudder not to return to the default state in case speed was changed while the collision avoidance system was active;
    • Fixed a bug which caused the collision avoidance system to incorrectly choose the route to bypass islands;
    • Fixed a bug which caused the voice notification to play when allied or enemy fighters or spotters were destroyed or ran out of action time;
    • The icon for Republic tokens was fixed in the combat missions;
    • Images of "French Navy" permanent camouflages were fixed in the Armory;
    • Fixed a bug due to which it was not possible to receive rewards for getting the first achievement of the day;
    • Fixed some other minor bugs.

    ST: 0.8.6 French Arc, New Map, Balance Changes to Henri, Roon, Hindenburg, Tirpitz, Bismarck, Graf Zeppelin, Kii, Z-23, Grozovoi. World of Warships

    ST: French Arc, New Map, Various Ship Balance Changes

    0.8.6 French Arc
    A French arc will begin with the release of the 0.8.6 update featuring the early access to French destroyers. The port of Marseilles is decorated to celebrate the event.
    There will be 4 directives, completing which you can earn containers. From them you can get combat missions for early access to French destroyers of tiers V  - VIII.
    Republic Tokens
    A new temporary resource ‘Republic’ tokens is also added.
    You can get it for different activities in game and exchange in the Armory for in-game goodies. Permanent camouflages, “French Navy” are available for French destroyers, giving the standard bonuses of permanent camouflages depending on the tier of the ship.

    New Camouflage Added
    with the following bonuses:
    • -3% to detectability range.
    • +4% to maximum dispersion of shells fired by the enemy at your ship.
    • +100% XP per battle
    • +75% Commander XP per battle
    • +50% Free XP per battle
    New Map "Crash Zone Alpha"
    Added to the game. The name was proposed by the MDF clan from the Clan Special Test. The visuals of the map resemble the white cliffs of Dover and is complemented by wrecked ships. The map is for battles of tiers VIII  - X in two versions of the “Domination” mode: with 3 or 4 key areas. In Random battles, the layout of islands on the sides of key areas makes the approach to them safer and allows for flank attacks. Due to the height difference of some islands, they can’t serve as dependable cover. In Clan battles the proximity of “home” key areas changes the usual tactics: these areas are not the safest.
    New "Sunny" Weather
    Added to the “Greece” map, and islands at the back of the teams are changed so that they provide better cover.
    French Tier X Cruiser "Henri"
    • Main calibre guns reload time increased from 12.3 to 13 s.
    Henri IV is one of the most efficient cruisers. A large calibre and Main Battery Reload Booster consumable allow her to deal a high amount of damage. To balance the ship with her classmates, the reload time for main calibre guns is increased.

    German Cruisers "Roon" & "Hindenburg"
    • Main calibre reload time lowered from 11 to 10.5 s.
    In the update 0.7.6 the reload time of these ships was increased and these German cruisers were balanced with other ships. But balance in game is not static, and further changes affected Roon and Hindenburg in comparison to cruisers of other nations. In the 0.7.9 update they got an additional charge of the Repair party consumable. Now, according to statistics, they are still weaker than other classmates in terms of combat efficiency, and lowered reload time will increase the total damage done by this two ships.
    German Ships Secondary 105 mm Changes
    Tirpitz, Bismarck, Graf Zeppelin and tiers VIII -  X German Cruisers:
    • Armour penetration increased from 17 to 25 mm.
    The change will allow 105 mm secondaries of German ships to penetrate the plating of destroyers, battleships and cruisers of tiers VI — VII.
    Japanes Battleship "Kii"
    • Armour of citadel deck increased from 22 to 32 mm.
    After penetrating the armour belt of the Kii, shells with a calibre of 356 mm and more didn’t ricochet against the thin armour of the citadel deck and penetrated it. To increase the survivability of the ship, the armour was increased from 22 to 32 mm.
    German Tier VIII Destroyer "Z-23"
    • The amount of HP of the stock hull is increased from 14 700 to 16 700.
    The difference in the amount of HP between stock and re-searchable hulls is 4 800. This is a high amount for a destroyer, and to make the change smoother, the stock hull is improved.
    Soviet Tier X Destroyer "Grozovoi"
    • Main calibre guns reload time increased from 4 to 4.2 s.
    Grozovoi is one of the strongest destroyers at the moment. Extensive choice of consumables and good parameters allow the ship to fulfil almost any role in battle. Increased reload time will balance her with other destroyers.

    TEST Changes, Yoshino, Smolensk, Kremlin, Slava, French DD's, Indomitable, Colbert, Siroco, World of Warships

    TEST "BUFFS 'N' NERFS"

    UPDATED: May 27th, 2019

    Updated: Latest Balance Changes.

    Japanese Premium Heavy Cruiser
    Tier X: Yoshino
    Main Battery:
    -Reload time: 18.5 s (20 s)
    Fighter Planes Added to Slot 3: SP/FP
    -Count 2(3) Work Time (60s) Reload 135 (90s) Distance (2km)

    Despite having a good salvo, Yoshino was suffering in terms of damage per minute compared to her classmates. The change will balance this damage output.
    Fighter consumable will increase the ship's protection against aircraft.

    Soviet Premium Light Cruiser
    Tier X: Smolensk
    Hull:
    -Aft-Fore Plating: 16 mm (13 mm)

    Increased plating will add the potential to ricochet the shells of 203 mm caliber guns.

    Soviet Battleships
    Tier X: Slava (Pobeda)
    Main Battery:
    -180 Degree Turn Time: 60 s (30 s)
    -Reload: 33 s (30 s)
    Consumable: Repair Party
    -Repair Party I: Charges 1 ( 3 )
    -Repair Party II: Charges 2 ( 4 )

    The battleship's focus on the long-range battles will be emphasized by reduced survivability and changed time in the turrets traverse. This will also make the ship less effective in close combat. Despite good accuracy, the moment for unleashing accurate salvos will have to be chosen more carefully due to the increased reload time. In addition, the size of the dispersion ellipse will now vary less as the distance increases. That is to say, the ship will be more accurate at close ranges and less accurate at long ranges than before.
    Tier X: Kremlin
    Main Battery:
    -Sigma: 1.90σ (1.70σ)

    New sigma value will make the battleship a bit more accurate at close ranges.

    British Premium CV
    Tier VIII: Indomitable
    Time Between Attacks:
    -Attack Aircraft: 1.5 s (0 s)

    The introduction of the delay is intended to solve the issue of starting a new attack only before the squadron changed its formation after the expired attack. Due to this, rear planes received less damage from AA bursts. This change won't affect the usual attack since it can only be executed after the camera returns to the squadron.

    French Premium Light Cruiser
    Tier X: Colbert
    Hull:
    -Aft-Fore Plating: 16 mm (13 mm)

    Increased plating will add the potential to ricochet the shells of 203 mm caliber guns.

    French Researchable Destroyers Tier II - X
    Tier II: En. Gabolde
    Main Battery HE Shells:
    -Alpha damage 1400 ( 1450 )
    -Projectile speed 780m/s ( 740m/s )
    -Burn prob 6% ( 4% )
    Main Battery AP Shells:
    -Projectile speed 780m/s ( 740m/s )

    Shells of the ships were replaced by newer versions with better ballistics.
    Tier III: Fusilier
    Main Battery HE Shells:
    -Alpha damage 1400 ( 1450 )
    -Projectile speed 780m/s ( 740m/s )
    -Burn prob 6% ( 4% )
    Main Battery AP Shells:
    -Projectile speed 780m/s ( 740m/s )

    Shells of the ships were replaced by newer versions with better ballistics.
    Tier VI: Guépard
    Main Battery:
    -180 Degree Turn Time: 22.5 s (27.7 s).
    -HE Shell Damage: 2000 (1400)

    The turrets of the destroyers without Smoke Generator were rotating too slowly when fighting aand maneuvering in battles at close range.
    Tier VII: Vauquelin
    Main Battery:
    -180 Degree Turn Time: 22.5 s (27.7 s).
    -HE Shell Damage: 2000 (1400)

    The turrets of the destroyers without Smoke Generator were rotating too slowly when fighting aand maneuvering in battles at close range.
    Tier VIII: Le Fantasque
    Main Battery:
    -Firing Range 11.861km ( 11.620km )
    -Reload Time: 6 s (5 s)

    These changes make the concept of Le Fantasque stand out from Le Terrible. When comparing these two ships, you will need to take into account, that when installing the researchable Gun Fire Control System, the firing range of Le Fantasque will be 13 km - 700 meters further than Le Terrible. High speed will allow the new destroyer to use the increased range of fire more effectively.
    Tier IX: Mogador
    Torpedoes:
    -Removed 4x4 - Added 2x2 & 2x3.
    Concealment:
    -Surface Detectability: 9.04 ( 8.12 km )
    -Air Detectability: 4.35 km ( 3.91 km )
    -Firing Inside Smoke Detectability: 3.7 km ( 3.25 km )

    Mogador was very similar to the X tier destroyer Kleber in parameters. The changes will balance the ship with classmates and make the tech branch more consistent and will highlight the features of the branch as the tier increases.
    Tier X: Kléber
    Concealment:
    -Air Detectability: 4.8 km ( 4.4 km )

    Detectability range by air is aligned following the recent change to detectability range by sea.

    French Premium Destroyer
    Tier V: Siroco
    Consumable:
    -Main Battery Reload Booster consumable is added:
    -Number of charges: 3(4);
    -Reload time: 180(120) s;
    -Action time: 15s;
    -Main battery reload time: -50%;
    Torpedoes:
    -Torpedo launcher reload time lowered from (90) to 75 s
    Hull:
    -HP increased from (11 700) to 11 900.

    These changes will make the ship more similar to the French destroyers of tier VI and higher. Damage per minute will be lower than Jaguar, but this will be compensated by higher damage during the action time of the Main Battery Reload Booster.
