Datong is a hypothetical ex-Soviet destroyer—a Project 30-bis ship rearmed with experimental 100 mm BL-127 quadruple-gun mounts. The BL-127 mount was developed in the late 1940s in the U.S.S.R. but never saw service. She is the definition of a versatile destroyer, with access to two firing modes that let her change the nature of her damage. Her standard mode is fast-firing with high damage per minute, letting her start plenty of fires in a short time period. Her alternative firing mode greatly increases her HE penetration at the price of a longer reload time, allowing her to trade damage per minute and fire-starting capabilities for more consistent damage. She also carries solid torpedo armament, even if the range is on the shorter side compared to her peers.

Philips van Almonde is one of four Dutch Gerard Callenburgh-class destroyers, with an armament configuration consistent with the original design. She is a utility-focused ship rather than a pure damage dealer, and she has a wide array of consumables in separate slots. Her combination of Smoke Generator and Hydroacoustic Search enables defending and contesting Key Areas. She can launch HE Airstrikes, but only one at a time. It has a fairly short cooldown but a limited number of planes and a short range.
