A fast battleship that has a similar layout to the German battlecruiser designs of World War I. She could have been laid down in Germany by 1918, bought by Sweden in the 1920s, and gradually completed by the end of the 1930s. The battleship's artillery armament is supplemented by four quintuple torpedo launchers.

Key Features

  • Main Battery: Four twin 380mm turrets, offering good accuracy and reload time despite being light for a Tier IX battleship.
  • Secondary Armament: Three twin 120mm turrets per side, which are underwhelming compared to Karl XIV Johan.
  • Torpedoes: Similar to those on Halland, with two quintuple launchers per side and a narrow spread.
  • Anti-Aircraft (AA) Battery: Strong AA capabilities to inflict substantial losses on enemy aircraft.
  • Other Attributes:
    • High top speed
    • Good concealment
    • Drawbacks include small salvo weight of the main battery and a small hitpoint pool.

Gameplay

  • Engagement Range: Favor mid to long-range engagements to make the most of her speed and concealment.
  • Positioning: Use her speed to take favorable positions and her concealment to stay hidden until the right moment.
  • Main Battery: Utilize her accurate main battery to deal consistent damage from a distance.
  • Torpedoes: Deploy her torpedoes against enemies that get too close, using her narrow spread to target stationary ships effectively.
  • Avoid Focus Fire: Keep hostile vessels at a distance to avoid taking heavy damage, as Niord’s small hitpoint pool makes her vulnerable to focus fire.
