The lead ship in a series of two battleships designed for raiding operations entered service a few months before the outbreak of World War II. Scharnhorst conducted her first battle raid in November 1939. It was followed by support for a landing in Norway, a raid into the Atlantic Ocean, and a breakthrough across the English Channel. In 1943, the battleship was transferred to Norway to counter Arctic convoys. On December 26, 1943, Scharnhorst, flying Rear Admiral Erich Bey's flag, was sunk in battle by an Allied squadron off the North Cape.

Scharnhorst '43 Commemorative Flag
Battleship Scharnhorst inherited her name and coat of arms from an armored cruiser, flagship of Admiral Spee, that sank during the Battle of the Falkland Islands in December 1914.
 
 

Key Features of Scharnhorst '43

Compared to Scharnhorst, Scharnhorst '43 has a shorter fire range, lower accuracy and slower reload speed. Instead, her secondary guns have a high rate of fire and her torpedoes have a faster reload time. She can also use Repair Party that restores more HP per second and has a shorter cooldown. Unlike Scharnhorst, she doesn't have access to Spotting Aircraft.

  1. Don't like to be negative but why should anyone buy this? It's worse in almost every way that matters compared to the existing Scharn. The Gniesenau is in game as what the twin ships were supposed to be after refitting to the Bismarks guns. So I could understand if they had added 15inch guns, longer reload, buffed the AA and secondaries, maybe improved the armour a touch but with these stats why buy over a 'vanilla' Sharn? With the current meta you'll be dead long before you get close enough to use these improvements.
