Under the Japanese Navy's recent development plan, the designs for battleships and battlecruisers were quite similar, with battlecruisers having the same speed as the Kii class battleships. This was a departure from traditional Japanese naval strategy. To enhance speed and transform a design into an authentic battlecruiser, it might be necessary to remove one of the main turrets.
