flag HMS Monmouth - British Tier X Heavy Cruiser 1947 (Changes)

After the failure of the London Naval Treaty of 1936, the British Admiralty returned to designing heavy cruisers. In January 1938, the lead engineer of the Naval Shipbuilding Office suggested a number of projects for a heavy cruiser with a displacement of 20,000 tons and armament represented by 203–234 mm caliber guns. One of the arrangements included three quadruple-gun turrets. A similar armament option was revisited in September 1939 while preparing preliminary designs for the A-class cruiser.

Monmouth Commemorative Flag.
The county of Monmouthshire in southeast Wales is located at the confluence of two rivers: the Wye and the Monnow. The only surviving fortified bridge in the U.K. lies over the Monnow. The guardhouse located above was built in late 13th–early 14th centuries and has survived to present day.

Key Features:

  • Monmouth is a cruiser designed for medium-range combat. With her eight guns positioned at the ship's fore, she can fire effectively without having to show her broadside.
  • The AP parameters have changed to be more efficient due to the lack of HE guns. Monmouth is also armed with two quadruple torpedo tubes with the ability to launch torpedoes one by one.
  • Monmouth has mid-deck armour has changed from 40mm to 30mm, but low speed and mediocre manoeuvrability.
  • The ship is equipped with a choice between Hydroacoustic Search or Defensive AA Fire in one slot, as well as a Repair Party consumable.

  1. Feel like I've been waiting forever for this ship to arrive. Another ship stuck in developer hell.

    1. Its a Giblaltar v2.0. I am not sure if its a separate ship or a test object...

    2. legendary upgrade for gibraltar?

    3. Separate ship from what we have been told so far.
