Prince of Wales - Tier VIII British Premium Battleship 1941
The second ship of the King George V class, Prince of Wales, saw action in major naval battles despite her short active service life. During the Battle of the Denmark Strait in May 1941, a hit from her main battery forced German battleship Bismarck to abandon her Atlantic raid. Later the same year, Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse were deployed to the Pacific, where both ships were sunk by Japanese aircraft during a massive air raid on December 10, 1941.

Work In Progress
Key Features and Battle Tips
Key Features
- High-Octane Firepower: Fast-firing, accurate guns (battlecruiser dispersion) with strong HE shells boasting improved fire chance, alpha damage, and penetration.
- Exceptional Survivability Tools: Equipped with a Heavy Repair Team for high repair potential and a Rapid Takeoff Spotter to mitigate short base range.
- Stealthy Profile: Decent concealment allows for favorable positioning.
- Fragile Design: Weak armor (especially bow/stern) and a low HP pool make her vulnerable to focused fire.
- Subpar AP: Armor-piercing shells have low damage and penetration, even for her caliber.
Battle Tips
- Prioritize HE: Use her accurate, fast-firing HE shells to burn down targets. Switch to AP only against broadside light cruisers or destroyers at close range.
- Manage Range: With short base range, use the Rapid Takeoff Spotter strategically to engage enemies from a safer distance when necessary.
- Positioning is Key: Because of weak armor and low HP, avoid sustained, focused fire. Use concealment to reposition and pick your engagements.
- Strategic Repairing: The Heavy Repair Team has a slower rate but higher capacity. Don't wait until you have a sliver of health left to use it; use it to maximize long-term survivability over a long engagement.
- Angle or Die: Protect your weak fore and aft ends by staying angled to incoming fire.

Bismarck 41, PoW 41 ... they brew something for the 85th anniversary in May
ReplyDeleteThis ship MUST have 32mm bow & stern plating and also improved AP ricochet angles similar to Duke of York.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise it is just worse KGV but 1 Tier higher
