The lead ship of the only class of dreadnoughts built by the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which were relatively small for battleships. Due to limitations in Austro-Hungarian naval infrastructure, they compensated by mounting all their main battery of 305mm Å koda guns in 4 triple turrets—an arrangement well ahead of its time. These were the first dreadnoughts to be armed in such a way, beating the Italians by 1 month.
