Wiesbaden Commemorative Flag
Named after the capital of the state of Hesse, Wiesbaden met her fate during the Battle of Jutland on June 1, 1916. A tradition emerged in the German Navy during this era where light cruisers were named in remembrance of predecessors that had been lost in combat. As early as March 1917, a new warship named Wiesbaden was launched, but she never actually entered into active service.
