15.8: 11th Anniversary, New Low-tier Operations, Marlborough B Dockyard, and more! - Closed Test

Update 15.8 celebrates 11 years since the game's release on 17 September 2015. The update will be full of Anniversary festivities which, of course, will include plenty of rewards and activities to participate in. Also expect a new Dockyard kicking off this year's Black Friday, three new low-tier Operations, and the next Clan Battles season.

We've prepared a full slate of rewards and festive activities to celebrate the game's 11th birthday.

Birthday Gift

After you play your first battle of the Update, you will be able to claim a special gift in the Armory containing:

Festive Rewards

Festive Rewards, also known as "Snowflakes," are making a comeback, allowing you to earn Festive Tokens (which you can exchange for various rewards) as well as Steel. The rules are the same as last year, and for anyone new to them, here's a quick recap.

You can earn Festive Rewards by completing two combat missions available for Tier V ships and above in any battle type.

Mission 1: Earn cumulative Base XP on a selected ship based on Tier:

Red Steel Titan Collection

The new Red Steel Titan Premium containers double as the source for a new historical collection consisting of 60 elements. Complete it to earn the Soviet Tier IX battleship Sovetskaya Rossiya along with an achievement.

Honorable Service Rewards Update

Chikuma Shō-Gō and Friedrich Carl Arrive

Expand your fleet with Friedrich Carl and the new Naval Legacy addition Chikuma Shō-Gō (representing Chikuma II in her final moments). Available via the Birthday Wishing Wharf alongside returning ships Sibir and Victoria. Friedrich Carl will also be sold directly in an Admiral Pack.

Obtaining Chikuma Shō-Gō unlocks the 4-piece historical collection Chikuma's Fall, awarding:

Marlborough B Dockyard

Build the Black Friday version of Tier IX British battleship Marlborough B. This marks the beginning of 2026's Black Friday events.

Gameplay profile: Armed with 16x 356 mm guns in quadruple turrets with quick reload, heavy salvo weight, and low detectability. Counterbalanced by lower main battery accuracy, soft armor, and an exposed citadel.

Dockyard Breakdown

• Total Phases: 28 (23 completeable via combat missions).
• Purchasable Phases: 5 required via Doubloons (1,400 Doubloons each).
• Starter Pack (5 Phases): 4,500 Doubloons
• Starter Pack (10 Phases): 8,500 Doubloons

Missions run across Update 15.8 and the first three weeks of 15.9.

Low-Tier Operations

Three brand-new PvE Operations designed for low-tier ships, offering relaxed grinding environments and onboarding for newer Captains.

• Trial by Fire: Starts at Tier II
• Swarm of Steel: Starts at Tier III
• Beehive: Starts at Tier IV

Operation Rules & Scaling:

• Playable up to Tier VI.
• Team sizes: 5 players (Tiers II–IV), 7 players (Tiers V–VI). Automated bots fill empty slots after 30 seconds in matchmaking for lower tiers.
• Tier II–IV matches restrict teams to single-tier ships only. Full-sized Divisions are permitted.
• Higher-tier variants layer on mechanics (capturing points, smoke play, responding to retreating/unspotted destroyers, carrier defense). Experienced players (200+ battles) encounter higher difficulty variants even at Tiers II–IV.
• Killer Whale Update: Adapted Tier V–VI variant added, changing the main objective to rescuing and escorting a damaged ally cruiser from an enemy base.

Clan Battles Season #35 "Komodo Dragon"

• Format: 5 vs. 5 on Tier VIII ships (Battleships, Cruisers, Destroyers).
• Restrictions: Max 1 Battleship per team.
• Banned: Lenin
• Max 1 of: Le Terrible, Le Fantasque
• Max 2 of: Cherbourg, Tallinn, Vladivostok, Borodino

Brawls

Update 15.8 features 3 Brawls with special recalibrations:

Brawl 1: 5v5 | Tier VIII (BBs, CA/CLs, DDs)

• Recalibration: Dealing damage partially restores your ship's HP.

Brawl 2: 3v3 | Tier IX (BBs, CA/CLs, DDs)

Brawl 3: 4v4 | Tier X (Destroyers only)

• Recalibrations: Increased speed & maneuverability; buffed torpedo speed & reload; increased torpedo detectability; slower primary gun reload.

• Red Hare: Pan-Asian Tier IX Destroyer (based on Mogador).
