Aragón - Tier IX Spanish Premium Cruiser
Following the end of the Spanish Civil War, Spain looked to construct new modern cruisers of Project 138. This consisted of three possible variants. Project 138B planned to reuse twin 305mm gun turrets taken from the España-class dreadnoughts to build cruisers capable of defeating any other cruiser in European waters.

Key Features and Battle Tips
Key Features
- Long firing range with large-caliber guns and good base reload for the caliber.
- Access to an alternative firing mode that drastically improves her accuracy and AP penetration capabilities, at the cost of a long reload.
- Low number of guns and unimpressive accuracy, using the Battlecruiser formula.
- Good base speed, but with bad concealment.
Battle Tips
Aragón combines the traditional Spanish alternative firing mode with high-caliber guns for cruisers. Use her standard firing mode to keep pressure on the opponent, and switch to her alternative mode to crush their broadsides!
Aragón plays as a "two-in-one" cruiser rather than sticking to a single role like most of her Tier peers. Her standard firing mode is designed for sustained damage. The fast reload of her six 305 mm guns allows her to pressure enemy ships with frequent HE salvos, starting fires and steadily wearing down battleships. Her AP remains effective against exposed broadsides, but the limited number of guns and battlecruiser dispersion make it unreliable. In this mode, Aragón plays much like a conventional damage-focused large cruiser, supporting her team from range with frequent salvoes.
Switch to Aragón’s alternative firing mode when you have an opportunity to punish an exposed broadside. In exchange for a longer reload, it significantly improves her AP penetration (to a battleship level) and accuracy, allowing her to land more consistent salvoes against cruisers and battleships. Look for flanking positions and crossfires that give you access to enemy sides, then use the enhanced salvoes to score citadel hits. It comes with its own trade-offs, though: with a caliber of 305mm, a target that angles quickly can still bounce your shells, and the longer reload gives the enemy more time to react between salvoes, so pick your firing mode carefully to suit the situation.
Aragón also carries torpedoes, but they should be considered as an auxiliary armament, as her lack of Hydroacoustic Search and poor concealment discourage close-range brawling.
