Test Ship Details
What sets Pérez Gacitúa apart is her unique support consumable, letting her buff allied ships at range or even herself when the moment calls for it. She can reinforce a struggling teammate, boost a ship's firepower at a critical moment, or turn the consumable inward for a personal boost, albeit at reduced efficiency. Her nine 419mm guns aren't the most impressive at her tier, but can still deliver powerful salvoes against broadside targets, making her a meaningful threat even when playing a supporting role. In terms of raw stats, she sits on the lower end of the tier: her hull, armour, and speed are unspectacular, and her HP pool is the smallest among Tier X battleships, making positioning crucial. Stay close enough to support and buff your allies, but far enough to avoid the crossfire that can quickly melt your health pool.
The support oriented consumables is a new type introduced in the Closed Test 15.5: 250th Anniversary development blog. In short, Pérez Gacitúa can launch planes aimed at nearby allies that will drop a buff on them. The range is fairly limited at around 15km, and the planes take a moment to reach their target. You can choose to buff one of three aspects of a ship: main battery reload, secondary and torpedo performance, or simply give a healing buff to a ship in need.
The real trick up her sleeve is her Combat Instructions, tied to those same support oriented consumables. Unlike most Pan-American ships, which charge their Combat Instructions through active combat with shell hits and potential damage, she charges hers very quickly by applying buffs to allies, or to herself at reduced efficiency. Support your team at the right moment, with good positioning, and you'll boost both your allies and your own guns, letting you deal great damage for a short window. It all comes down to good timing and game tactical skills!
Please note that Pérez Gacitúa is being used to test new features that may appear in upcoming ships. Depending on how well she performs as a playable concept, we will decide whether to make her available to players or keep her as an internal testing platform.
Key Features and Battle Tips
Key Features
- Support-Oriented Consumable: Pérez Gacitúa introduces a unique mechanic that allows her to launch specialized aircraft toward allies within 15km. These planes deliver one of three tactical buffs: improved main battery reload, enhanced secondary and torpedo performance, or a healing boost.
- Team-Dependent Combat Instructions: Unlike traditional battleships that charge Combat Instructions through shell hits or damage tanking, this ship charges them primarily through team support. This creates a gameplay loop where assisting allies directly empowers your own offensive capabilities.
- Main Battery Configuration: The ship is equipped with nine 419mm guns. While they feature below-average performance relative to other Tier X battleships, they benefit from decent reload speeds and reliable accuracy, remaining a legitimate threat to enemies who present their broadsides.
- Specialized Role: Designed as the first battleship centered around support, the Pérez Gacitúa shifts the focus away from raw durability and armor. With mediocre speed, average armor, and a low HP pool, she acts as a force multiplier that thrives when she is properly positioned to facilitate her team's success.
Battle Tips
- Master Positioning: Due to having the smallest HP pool among Tier X battleships and only average armor, you must carefully balance your distance. Stay close enough to maintain the 15km range required for your support aircraft to reach allies, but avoid being in the direct line of fire where your low survivability will be quickly exploited.
- Prioritize Support Cycles: Your Combat Instructions are the key to maximizing your offensive potential. Because these charge most rapidly when you buff teammates—and less efficiently when buffing yourself—prioritize active support of your team to ensure your Combat Instructions are ready when you need to push or defend.
- Strategic Buff Selection: Analyze the tactical situation before deploying your support aircraft. Choose between improving a teammate's main battery reload for a finishing blow, enhancing secondary/torpedo performance for close-quarters brawling, or applying a healing buff to sustain a critical ally under heavy pressure.
- Opportunistic Offense: While your nine 419mm guns are not the strongest in their tier, they are still highly capable. Do not neglect your primary armament; use your main guns to punish broadside targets while your support consumables are on cooldown or as you transition between positioning phases.
