Conte Verde - Tier X Italian Battleship

Based on a proposal by Italian engineer Ferdinando Cassone, this concept envisioned constructing the largest possible warship within Italy’s shipbuilding capabilities in order to offset the country’s relatively limited naval industrial capacity. Such a vessel might have been laid down before the Washington Naval Treaty came into force and later modernized. In this hypothetical reconstruction, the ship would have received a large battery of 203 mm guns along with significantly improved secondary and anti-aircraft armament, reflecting developments in naval warfare during the late 1930s and 1940s.
