Public Test Server 14.0 Round 2: Operations with Flagships
Participating in the World of Warships Public Test gives players the opportunity to try out new or updated battle modes, evaluate new ports, and discover other novel features before their official release on the live servers. Moreover, participants can receive a variety of rewards just for testing and participating in battles.
Changelog
- After reviewing feedback from the first round of testing Operation with Flagships, we have applied the following changes to reduce their difficulty level:
- All enemy ships are now weaker, having less HP and dealing less damage.
- Bots are now keeping effects provided by the Flagships even after the latter is destroyed.
- Incendiary Specialist
- Reduced bonuses to main gun reload speed and chances of causing fires.
- Destroyers and Cruisers under the influence of the Flagship are now more vulnerable to HE damage.
- When bots under the influence of the Flagship have two or more fires they receive even more damage from fires.
- Torpedo Master
- Increased the existence time of the areas with a buff that appears after the bot under the influence of the Flagship is destroyed.
- Iron Fist
- Reduced bonuses to speed and armor penetration.
- Destroyers under the influence of the Flagship are now more vulnerable to AP damage.
- Incendiary Specialist
- Made economy changes for Operations with Flagships.
- Fixed an issue with an individual voiceover for commander Hannie Schaft.
- Added portraits for three new Netherland commanders.
- Fixes a minor issue with description of Baltimor's shells.
- Fixes a rare visual issue with display of Event Pass on the screens with FHD resolution.
Operations with Flagships
Special versions of the six Operations available for high-tier ships will be available for the duration of the update. The specific Operations are Defense of Naval Station Newport, Raptor Rescue, "The Ultimate Frontier," Hermes, Aegis, and Cherry Blossom. Operations with flagships will run alongside the standard Operations and will be available as a separate battle type.
These Operations feature additional depth and complexity due to the presence of new enemies known as flagships—dangerous adversaries that act as squadron leaders for their comrades. Flagships have more hit points and can influence their allies within an area of effect. You’ll find it difficult to take them down unless you focus on their specific vulnerabilities.
One of the three types of flagships, each with distinct new mechanics, will be prowling the waters each week for the first 3 weeks of the update. In the fourth week, you’ll face all three flagships in the operations. You can breathe just a bit more easily though—flagships won’t affect each other, that would be a little too much.
Incendiary Specialist
- The first flagship will make its allies more dangerous by buffing their rate of fire and chances of starting fires.
- However, in return, the flagship will be especially vulnerable to fire.
- When two or more fires are started on a bot ship within the flagship’s area of effect, that bot will take significantly more damage from fire and won’t be able to use the Damage Control Party consumable.
- For this opponent, deploy ships with effective HE shells to burn it to the waves!
Torpedo Master
- The second flagship significantly increases torpedo reload speed for its allies, but in return, the flagship itself is much more vulnerable to taking torpedo damage from players.
- Additionally, when a bot is sunk within its area of influence, a buff (like in Arms Race) will be left behind which must be picked up quickly. If obtained your whole team will get a buff to their own torpedo damage and reload speed, and the torpedoes of the ship that picked it up instantly reload.
- Against this flagship, deploy ships with a heavy torpedo loadout to send it to the bottom!
Iron Fist
- The third flagship applies a speed buff and arms nearby allies with special shells that have enhanced armor penetration.
- In return, when a bot is destroyed within the area of influence with a certain percentage of damage received from AP and SAP shells, it will explode and damage all nearby vessels.
- This flagship is vulnerable to AP and SAP shells.
- Against this opponent, deploy ships with strong AP and SAP armaments, keep your distance from your opponents, and watch the fireworks!
