Karl von Schönberg (1872–1914) is a commander of the light cruiser Nürnberg, who fell on board his ship in a battle against English forces near the Falkland Islands on December 8, 1914. He was a descendant of an old Saxon noble family. Its coat of arms features a two-colour red and green lion in the field of gold.
