A unique hybrid ship that combines the features of a battleship and an aircraft carrier. Initially built as a version of the preceding Fusō class, Ise underwent extensive reconstruction in the 1940s. Some of the ship's main battery turrets were replaced by an aircraft hangar, surmounted by a flight deck.

Ise is one of Japan's historic provinces that is home to the Ise Grand Shrine, which is the most important Shinto shrine in the country. The flag depicts the emblem of the Isu Grand Shrine.

The concepts of hybrids are being tested. 
During the test, ships and planes will be adjusted taking both their new type of gameplay and combat efficiency into account.
 
Three (3) versions of Ise were added, differing in the type of planes and weapons used: 
  1. Ise #1 - Torpedo bombers.
  2. Ise #2 - Dive bombers with HE bombs.
  3. Ise #3 - Attack aircraft. 
* Hybrids have less firepower than usual for their type and tier, and should therefore combine their standard armament with their planes to deal effective damage. 
Each of them carries one full squadron with one attack flight. Aircraft take off quickly and do not return to the ship. 
Restoration of the aircraft are not one by one, but the entire squadron at once. 
Hybrids' squadrons do not have consumables, and their engine boost is less effective than that of carriers' planes.
