Affondatore - Italian Super Battleship 1945
An Italian version of the "maximum battleship" concept—a ship of unlimited displacement equipped with extremely powerful artillery. The battleship's air defense consists of dual-purpose 135 mm mounts, developed in Italy at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s, along with 76 mm anti-aircraft guns adopted into service in the 1960s.

Key Features:
- High Barrel Count & Powerful AP Shells: Delivers heavy volleys.
- Strong Armor: Excellent citadel protection typical of Italian battleships.
- Improved Exhaust Smoke: Larger radius, longer duration, and faster cooldown for tactical flexibility.
- Combat Instructions: Charged by main battery hits, enhances secondary battery (rate of fire, penetration, dispersion) and boosts ship speed by 10% (does not increase secondary range).
- Weaknesses: Mediocre accuracy, short range, poor maneuverability, and vulnerability to torpedoes due to large size.
Gameplay Tips:
- Fight at Medium Range: Use main battery firepower initially; avoid long-range engagements.
- Timely Aggression: Close in when Combat Instructions are charged and enemies are vulnerable.
- Maximize Secondaries: At close range, activate Combat Instructions to unleash devastating secondary battery attacks.
- Smoke Tactics: Use Exhaust Smoke to safely advance or disengage from unfavorable fights.
- Speed Boost: Combat Instructions' speed increase helps reposition or retreat when needed.

Affondatore
Affondatore
AffondatoreCommanders, a new Salvage for Victory event is on the horizon! This time, the ultimate prize is early access to the formidable Italian superbattleship Affondatore, alongside her exclusive commemorative flag.
Unlike some previous iterations, this specific Salvage for Victory event is a straight sprint to the finish—there are no midpoint rewards. You will need to accumulate a total of 100 Progress Points to claim the grand prize.
Note on Availability: Affondatore’s Early Access period will last for three updates. Following this, she will officially join the Tech Tree in Update 15.9.
Event Mechanics & Resource Caps
To reach the 100 Progress Points required, you can mix and match various in-game resources. However, you cannot rely on just one resource type to carry you to the end. The event enforces strict caps on how much progress each resource can contribute:
- Credits, Elite Commander XP, Coal, and Uncommon Economic Bonuses: Each of these resource types can be used to fund up to 50% of your total progress (50 Progress Points max per resource).
- Salvage Tokens: Can be used for up to 30% of the total progress (30 Progress Points max).
Personal Challenges Integration
Running concurrently with Salvage for Victory is a Personal Challenges event. This will be your primary hunting ground for Salvage Tokens. As an added bonus, Coal will also be featured among the Personal Challenges rewards, helping you double down on the resources needed for the main event.
Resource Conversion Breakdown
Plan your spending wisely. Here is the exact cost breakdown per 1 Progress Point, including individual resource limits and maximum possible spending:
| Resource Type | Cost per 1 Point | Point Limit | Max Resource Spending |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coal | 5,000 | 50 | 250,000 |
| Credits | 2,000,000 | 50 | 100,000,000 |
| Salvage Tokens | 1 | 30 | 30 |
| Uncommon Economic Bonuses (All Types) | 30 | 50 | 1,500 |
| Elite Commander XP | 60,000 | 50 | 3,000,000 |
Final Rewards
Upon successfully reaching 100 Progress Points, the following rewards will be credited to your account immediately:
- Italian superbattleship
Affondatore (Early Access) - Affondatore commemorative flag
Good luck on the battles ahead, Commanders. Strategize your resource spending, conquer the Personal Challenges, and add the might of the Italian fleet's finest to your port!

Looks like Italian "Super Kurfürst". Interesting ship IMO
ReplyDeleteAlso note, that unlike tech tree Italian battleships — this super battleship doesn't get lower than average HP for tier, while having even more HP than Maine.
I think, that this ship would be well suited for clan battles due to its combat instructions that boost secondaries and smoke generator (that may allow to cover allied cruisers that follow this ship in column — perfect for pushing a flank).
Also note, that it has small and possibly armored superstructure — another reason why this ship may be a good alternative to soviet BBs in clan battles
Please add a video preview for this ship
ReplyDeleteHi! Please add full detailed stats once they're available. This ship looks interesting
ReplyDeletePlease add armor info once it is available
ReplyDeleteIt will be added at some point today.
DeleteI've seen a video featuring this ship's armor scheme, and it looks weak to be honest :(
ReplyDeleteHi! Could you check the ship's dimensions, please? i.e. lenght and width
ReplyDeleteHi Jobby! Could you write the Affondatore's dimensions (lenght, width) in these comments, please? If you use 3d gamemodels website for ship's stats - dimensions are listed in the hull section. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteDimensions are not showing on my Gamesmdel3d account, maybe you have a better account than I have.

I get the stats from GameParams.data files on PTS.
DeleteGot it. Thank you. Dimensions will be listed in the shiptool website once update 14.6 comes out. I also don't have account on 3d models, so that's why I asked you to look there
ReplyDeleteWhy does it take them to release the superships for that long?
ReplyDeleteRemember when they were not releasing Maine for a year, while also they didn't change any stats of it since the announcement in the dev blog?
Looks like they're doing the same with Affondatore, as I doubt that they will change any of its stats prior to the release
I wish it had SAP instead of those secondary caliber instructions. As with the current concept it will need a completely new captain with skills usable only on this ship, so you won't be able to train the captain while using the existing premium ships
ReplyDeleteOr they could just add the combat instructions that boost AA range of those 76mm guns to like 6km. So it would be just a good tanky Super Roma
ReplyDeleteYeah! I absolutely agree with you! If they remove SAP - they must give either a Great Armor or Great AA, or Great Armor + Great AA combat instructions.
DeleteSecondaries combat instructions simply don't work, as no one in sane mimd will grind a separate captain for this ship which is just much-much worse Sicilia in EVERY aspect if compared Tier to Tier
Hi! Please update the ship's data, as in the new devblog they gave it SAP and changed its combat instructions
