Tone Tier VIII Japanese Hybrid Cruiser 1938

A well-armed heavy cruiser with an unconventional arrangement of the main battery guns which were concentrated in the forward end. Her speed and torpedo armament were as good as those of preceding Japanese cruisers, while she boasted heavier armor and more efficient AA defence.

The Tone River is one of the three largest rivers in Japan. Japanese dragons are wingless water deities. That's why the Gold Dragon crowns the warship sailing the seas.



The concepts of hybrids will be tested in the near future. 
During the test, ships and planes will be adjusted taking both their new type of gameplay and combat efficiency into account. WG are now ready to share their initial parameters.

Three versions of Tone were added, differing in the type of planes: 
  1. Tone #1 - Torpedo bombers.
  2. Tone #2 - Dive bombers with HE bombs.
  3. Tone #3 - Attack aircraft. 
* Hybrids have less firepower than usual for their type and tier, and should therefore combine their standard armament with their planes to deal effective damage. 
Each of them carry one full squadron with one attack flight. Aircraft take off quickly and do not return to the ship. 
Restoration of the aircraft are not one by one, but the entire squadron at once. 
Hybrids' squadrons do not have consumables, and their engine boost is less effective than that of carriers' planes.
