The pioneering ship that led the way for a later class of heavy cruisers. The ship's layout and silhouette had much in common with the British light cruisers of World War I, but Hawkins surpassed them in size and the calibre of her main battery.
Main Characteristics of Hawkins.
Hawkins was the first heavy cruiser in the British Navy. Her design was similar to those of light cruisers from the time of World War I, but in contrast to them, the ship carried powerful 190 mm artillery. During World War II, the ship provided support for the British forces that were fighting against the Italians in Africa, and also took part in the Normandy landings. In World of Warships, the ship is notable for having a large HP pool for her tier and good HE shells.
